Welcome to the Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) area of the website. We hope this will give you a good understanding of what the PTFA does, what we have planned in the coming year and how these activities generate very well received funds for the school. Perhaps we may even convince you to get involved.
What is the PTFA?
The PTFA is essentially a fundraising organisation whose sole aim is to raise funds to support the pupils of Littletown School. It is made up of a small committee of teachers, parents and carers who work together.
What does the PTFA do?
Throughout the year, the PTFA plan and run a number of events aimed at raising funds for the school. These events will be communicated to families via the half-termly PTFA newsletter.
We also try to bring the local community together with the school; we have recently worked with Tesco’s Cleckheaton and Warburtons to gain some community funding.
The money raised, is used to enhance the curriculum and we also treat pupils to experiences and keepsakes.
The decisions around how the money raised is distributed are made in collaboration between the PTFA members, teaching staff and pupils.
Recent purchases have included:
- A Hip Hop day for all pupils via an external agency
- Love hearts for all pupils
- Various new sports equipment for playtime.
- A reading book to take home and keep for our new Early Years cohort
- A personalised keyring for our Y6 leavers.
Get involved
We are always looking for new members – if you want to get involved, please let the school office know and we can give you more information. The more volunteers we have; the more we can do to enrich school life for our children!
A schedule of events are planned at the start of the academic year. If you can spare time, please volunteer as without this support, the running of events can become challenging.
