NASA/PPG Science visiT
Class 6 had a very interesting visit from Sophie, a NASA/PPG researcher, who taught us about the process of identifying suitable materials when sending spacecraft into space. We conducted experiments using a special pigmented paint (which was blue when cold and invisible when hot), ultra violet lights, foil and various coloured paper. We repeated our investigations to ensure we had accurate readings and then worked out the mean/average.
Sophie knew so much about space! We had a question time where she answered all our questions ranging from neutron stars to black holes and supernovas to tourist travel in space.
